MASSAGE TEAM

Jacob Tucker - Massage Therapist, Team Leader

When I initially started college, I wanted to be a physical therapist. As I studied though, I realized that the aspect of PT that intrigued me the most was the massage. I attended East West College in Portland Oregon, and loved every second of it. Wanting to focus my skills on the therapeutic aspects of massage that attracted me, I have since worked at a hospital and a physical therapy clinic, providing relief to hundreds of patients that normally would not receive massage therapy. I am now excited to bring those same therapeutic goals and skills that I have acquired working in those locations into the relaxing environment that Lefore’s Spa has to offer.

Lis Kubo - Massage Therapist

As a massage therapist Lis hopes to touch not only peoples sore muscles, but their lives as well. Lis hopes to make sure every client receives exactly what they need and wants her guest to feel free to voice if they are expecting anything different from what she is already providing. Her goal is to bring a positive and nurturing attitude to every person she comes into contact with, create an opportunity for understanding their needs, and to meet their needs by achieving the highest level of relaxation and comfort possible. God has blessed her with amazing opportunities and she prays that she continues to serve others to the best of her ability, sharing His love and blessings.
Janey Duskin-Gilmore - Massage Therapist

Janey attended the Bluestone Academy of Massage in 2007, and currently works part time at LeFore's while she is attending WWCC to acheive her nursing degree. Janey also has a young family that keeps her busy in her free time.

Kate Colvin - Massage Therapist

Kate Went to Tri City School of Massage and graduated in April 2011. She have always enjoyed giving back massages to family and friends and decided that she enjoyed it so much that she should learn the art of massage therapy as a profession. It is a very rewarding job to know that you are helping someone feel better.

When Kate is not working at LeFore’s she is also a member of the local roller derby team, The Walla Walla Sweets Roller Girls. Kate also enjoy art, music, and spending time with family and friends.

I had my first massage with Lis last week. It was LITERALLY the best massage I've ever had in my whole life. I felt like a dizzy marshmallow when she was done with me. I'll definitely be booking with her again!

Fall Hair Color: Before and After

Before: Our model has a warm auburn tone, which was a perfect summer trend for her outgoing lifestyle, Lots of time in the sunshine showed off her color tone and made her eyes pop!

With summer coming to an end, LeFore's stylist Jerelle wanted to create a dramatic effect for our model, by deepening and cooling the base color and adding a punch of a cool violet red panels, she is a trendsetter with this fall/winter style!

RICH BRUNETTES This season's browns differentiate themselves with a spectrum of unexpected undertones — Robinson loves light browns with a complexion-flattering caramel reddish tone, while Ott favors cedar browns with hints of light-catching violet.

PLATINUM When it comes to visual impact, platinum is a winner. And that Jean Harlow-esque champagne has been updated for today. "Think Nordic blonde like Michelle Williams," says Victoria Hunter of Whittemore House Salon. "Blonde and bright, but really clean."

OMBRé Popular within every color family, ombré (which means "shadow" in French) is an effect where one color at the roots gradually transitions to another shade at the ends. Negin Zand of Sally Hershberger's L.A. salon reveals how to make it modern: "Add fine highlights at the root, then keep it thicker toward the bottom."

Sharon's work...

Sharon in her new room, hard at work doing MCA on a client. This is about the 8th treatment the client has had. She had SEVERE acne scaring, and has noticed such a remarkable improvement in her skin texture and scars that she has felt confident enough to allow family to see her without make-up for the first time since she was a teenager. What a boost of confidence this new technique has given her!

Sharon LeFore - Owner & Expert on MCA

Before MCA treatment.

1 Month After MCA treatment.

Sharon completed extensive training in the field of Multitrepannic Collagen Actuation or MCA as it is known in the business. Can you help me with my Scar? This is the question that drove Sharon to seek help for her clients. Finding out that there is only a handful of practitioners that currently offer MCA further fueled her desire to solve this problem for her clients. It’s important to realize that no scar can be removed completely, and here are several ways to make scars less obvious and improve their appearance. Multitrepannic Collagen Actuation or Dry Needling refers to a procedure where the effect of the healing process results in a visible change or scar remodeling. Plastic Surgeons Dr. Camirand and Dr. Des Fernandes have written articles on Dry Needling using the method since the late 1980’s to soften and stretch scars following face lifts with noted improvement in the scar and its color. The result in most cases is a smooth flat scar that is less noticeable and the return of pigment (color) to some of the lighter scars. MCA is an entirely natural way of getting the body’s own cells to regenerate and get rid of wrinkles. MCA is a practically-painless, completely risk-free alternative to injecting muscle relaxants such as Botox. Although MCA uses a very fine needle, nothing is injected and the treatment causes a micro-trauma to the skin, in order to force it into a state of self repair. Our bodies are equipped with a DNA system and, when injured, the body sends out the correct signals and tools which enable it to repair itself and heal. Some patients notice the benefit after just one treatment; others may require up to three treatments, one month apart. As you puncture the skin, you create a wound which heals in three phases inflammation, proliferation and tissue remodeling. When the needle enters the skin, it starts the inflammation phase. Fibroblasts cells that give rise to connective tissue, move into the affected area and start to produce collagen and elastin to help the healing process. Although the procedure does damage the skin and cause minor bleeding, the skin is essentially regenerating itself. Following a treatment, the patient is left with a fine red scratch mark, which forms a scab and heals within 5-7 days. Away from the face, MCA is also excellent for treating stretch marks or other body scars it can also be used to help soften scars caused by less than perfect face lift surgery. One great advantage of MCA over other similar treatments is that is does not cause any permanent damage to the skin and the healing phase. Call for consultantion appointment.

" " Awesome! Nice, easy to book and the staff is flexible. I LOVE my hair every time I leave the place and I'm able to work with the cut myself in between cuts. Perfect!

Ronda Maggs Garner*****
" "
My husband just got home from his "Father's Day Contest" massage you so graciously gifted him for the story I posted. He needed this so much this week more than any other. He had a rough week and even this morning and early afternoon, he was SO worn out and exhausted that he was dragging out of the house to go to his appointment. I almost didn't recognize him when he walked in the door. He LOVED his massage!!!! He's been playing with the little 3 year old I babysit since he got home. He was so impressed with Jacob and his professionalism that he bought a package deal to get 2 more!!! I was shocked he spent the money but, you know what??? I am so pleased with the relaxed, happy man that came home that I do NOT mind!!! :-D Thank you to everyone at LeFores for making Kent feel like he "died and went to Heaven". Those were his exact words

Terri Silvernail Cantrell*****

Relief for Sciatica nerve pain

Going to continuing education for massage therapy in Portland often feels like I’m attending a convention for extras from a Science Fiction movie. Older women with oversized glasses and wildly disheveled hair cluster on one side of the room, discussing there lasted revelations with energy work. Students huddle together on the other side, awkwardly flirting between texts and sporadically looking at anatomy flash cards. The rest of the assorted gathering falls somewhere between the extremes, sitting quietly and sipping cheap hotel coffee. I always expect the older crowd to whip out a ruler and dispense some discipline on one of the flirting students, but this doesn’t happen and I turn my attention back to the class material.
The last class I attended was for sciatica relief, something many of my clients suffer from. Sciatica can be caused from traumatic falls or accidents but more often than not it is from prolonged sitting, poor posture, inadequate core support and poor flexibility. The key to effectively treating sciatica is being able to access where it is originating from and treating accordingly.
Most of the massages I do at the spa require the client to be passive and relax. Treating sciatica is almost the complete opposite. Retraining the muscles, nerves and joints requires active involvement of the client.
If you have sciatic pain, don’t expect this treatment to be a relaxing experience, but do expect results and to be actively involved in your healing. Having worked at physical therapy clinics in the past, these treatments are much more along those lines. With that I will also expect you to do the exercises at home that will continue to aid you in your recovery, and if you don’t I just might have to have one of my new friends from class whip out their ruler and dispense some discipline. Trust me, you’ll thank me in the end.

September 11th 2011

It's been 10 years since the attack on the USA, and when the WTC towers were destroyed. We all have many Hero's to look up to from that tragic event. The Firefighters and Police officers especially. In remembrance of that day, and for all those who continue to serve and protect, and put themselves in harms way, first responders to help all we want to say THANK YOU! LeFore's has a wonderful Staff! One of our manager's and her little sister's baked 150 cupcakes and delivered them to local Fire fighters and Police officers on September 11 in honor of the service and protection they provide all of us with! Thank you Tash!
